Gingham for the Fall

Shein dress (c/0), almost identical heels HERE (THIS PAIR is currently under $40!), similar bag, Lulu’s hat (last season but similar here, and ordering this one next), Marc Jacobs watch, Hermes bracelet

It has been so difficult for me to transition out of summer, so I have been slow-rolling on the fall fashion train.  Until I met this dress – hellooo cutie!  This was sent by Shein and when I saw it I knew exactly where I was going to wear it…

It was my birthday on Friday, which I couldn’t have planned better if I tried.  I love that it falls close to Labor Day weekend because it usually means I get either a short work week, or a long weekend.  This year was both!  And to top it off, my husband had my sister and brother-in-law surprise me in Milwaukee to celebrate!  I wore this dress for dinner and drinks, and fell in love with it.

The dress fits like a dream.  For reference, I’m 5’4″ and 110lbs, and wearing a size XS.  I love that it’s not too tight, and the sleeves are the perfect length for my long arms.  I also love that it’s gingham and will move nicely from summer to fall.

I’ve always been a fan of of the black/brown combination, so it was a no-brainer for me to pair the dress with these brown suede peep-toe booties that I scored at Express last year.  So perfect for any season, but especially early fall.  There are a ton of similar option – shop them below!

This is a tough time of year for fashion, especially for those in the south where it’s probably still pretty hot.  Dresses and shoes like these are amazing, because they channel those autumn vibes with patterns and textures, but are light enough to make it through the warm months.  I think I’ve coveted this look as my go-to for pre-fall!

Such a pretty gingham dress! I’ve jumped into the gingham bandwagon as well, I have a couple of gingham dresses already, and a pair of flats.
